Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Kolkata's metro system faced another disruption as services came to a standstill from Dumdum to Dakshineswar within just three days. The disruption occurred on a Sunday afternoon when, according to metro sources, the power connection on the third line was abruptly cut at 1:52 pm.
This incident resulted in a metro train bound for Dakshineswar coming to a halt at Baranagar, leading to a suspension of metro movement on both up and down lines from Dumdum to Dakshineswar.
Notably, a similar issue had occurred on the third line last Thursday between Noapara and Baranagar, leading to a complete power shutdown at 2:18 pm.The subsequent line repair caused significant inconvenience to passengers, highlighting recurring challenges in maintaining uninterrupted metro services.
